About the role
Job Summary: We're opening our doors to a skilled and detail-oriented Podcast Video Editor to fully own our weekly video podcast, from editing through to publishing. You'll edit full-length episodes, build engaging short-form clips, write show notes, and schedule content across our social media channels. Our podcast features senior leaders in a regulated professional industry, so accuracy, polish, and a professional creative style are essential. The person we need brings strong editing skills, a sharp eye for detail, and fresh ideas that help the show keep growing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Edit full-length video podcast episodes with Riverside and Descript
- Check and correct captions and transcripts for accuracy, including technical industry terminology
- Build short-form clips and highlights from each episode for social media
- Make episode thumbnails using existing tools and brand templates
- Write and post episode show notes in Buzzsprout, following the provided guidelines and AI-assisted workflows
- Queue and publish weekly posts across social media channels with Publer
- Set up and maintain consistent visual templates (colors, formats, layouts) so all episodes and clips look cohesive
- Deliver every episode asset on time each week, ahead of agreed deadlines
- Recommend creative improvements to clips, formats, and presentation to grow reach and engagement
Mandatory Skills:
- Proven experience editing long-form video podcasts or interview-style video content
- Hands-on experience creating short-form clips for YouTube Shorts, LinkedIn, Instagram, or similar platforms
- Proficiency in Descript and/or Riverside (or strong experience with comparable editing tools)
- Excellent written English and a high level of accuracy in captions, transcripts, and show notes
- Ability to deliver content in a professional, polished style for a business audience
- Experience with social media scheduling tools such as Publer, Buffer, or similar
- Self-reliant, thorough, and steady
- Strong communication skills and the ability to meet weekly deadlines reliably
Preferred Skills:
- Experience using Buzzsprout or other podcast hosting platforms
- Familiarity with British English spelling and terminology
- Experience with content in property, construction, surveying, or other professional services industries
- Basic knowledge of SEO or digital marketing for podcast and video content
- Thumbnail and graphic design experience in Canva or similar tools
- Experience creating brand templates and visual guidelines for content
- Comfortable using AI tools to support content workflows
